Bible Journaling Step-by-Step with Print-Your-Own Stickers – Joshua 1 – Be Brave

Word Art Bible Journal Pg 5
Have I ever told you how I grew up being afraid of just about everything? Seriously. I know first hand… in so many ways… how fear can rob of us of the joy of living the life God created us to live! Fear of people. Fear of being hurt… physically and emotionally. Fear of heights. Fear of drowning. Fear of the unknown. And the list goes on. And then I met the Lord Jesus and He wouldn’t let me stay hidden and defeated in my fear… and He still doesn’t. Being brave… and overcoming our fears isn’t a one time deal… but it is a one size fits all because it’s all about trusting and believing that the One True God… in all His glory… is truly with us wherever we go… and big enough to handle whatever comes our way! Not saying it’s easy… but with God’s Promises and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit… oh so doable!

And that’s why I loved Bible journaling Joshua 1:9… it’s one of my favorite go-to verses… and want to share my process of it with you!
Word Art Bible Journal Pg 1
I gotta say… I love the versatility of the new Word Art and Washi Digital Collection… so fun! So the first thing I did was to print mine on full page sticker paper to make it easy to create with. (See supply list below for resources)

Word Art Bible Journal Pg 2
I then placed the “be brave” sticker right next to the verse… Joshua 1:9.
**STICKER TIP… if you have a hard time peeling off the backing try using your x-acto knife to score a line through the backing… taking care not to cut through the front paper.
I used the blank heart sticker to write in the reason I can be brave… because God is with me wherever I go!
I added a little strip of flower sticker washi across the bottom of the page.
And for a creative touch… I cut a wiggle strip and triangle from the green dotted washi to make the arrow!
To finish off this step I added some line work and curly swirls with my micron 005 pen.

Word Art Bible Journal Pg 3
The page was calling for more of something across the top so I added some quick and easy circles with my micron pen and colored them with my Prismacolor pencil #PC917.

Word Art Bible Journal Pg 4
I used my red Prismacolor #PC923 to add some soft shading along the left of my circles which really makes them glow!

And lastly… I added a touch of color to JOSHUA with Prismacolor #PC9889 which pulls some of the green over from the wiggly arrow for a nice balance.

Word Art Bible Journal Pg 5
Perfect page for tucking my little “trust God” paperclip… and a great encouragement for us all today don’t you agree?

So… whatever fear you’re facing today hear the Lord speaking to your heart even now… “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

I read a quote the other day that said “courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to be brave in spite of it”. Reading this post reminded me of it.

I love the stickers idea! I’ve seriously been thinking about starting Bible journaling but I’m so attached to my Bible — it has so many personal markings in it and I can’t bring myself to switch to a new one. So decided instead to use a notebook to do my doodling in. 🙂
Thanks so much for all your work in setting up your new website — it is all so wonderful!

The days just go by so quickly and… to be honest… there’s been days I’ve just made excuses not to go to the studio because I’m not happy with what I’m painting and I’ve been frustrated. However… I know God has a plan here so I’m not giving up… so stay tuned.

Love you my friends for your encouragement!

I pruned my lantana shrubs a few days ago and tuck I pruned my lantana shrubs a few days ago and tucked a few of the trimmings in this adorable little vase and couldn’t resist trying to paint them.

I also discovered that lantanas symbolize fierce love and wild energy! Oh goodness… wild energy seems so long ago! Haha! But what joy is ours when we are fiercely in love with the Lord! Amen?

Hmmm… I was thinking about adding a pattern to the tablecloth but maybe a verse about love would be better. Any suggestions?

Made me think of how God looks at us… wanting us to hold on to Him in faith so that we too can bear fruit… for His glory. Inspired by Jesus’ fig tree parable in Luke 13 if you want to go check it out.

And who knew there were pomegranate songs? Haha!

Of course, since I’m presently painting florals, I couldn’t resist the poppy.

I shared more about God’s encouragement through this passage in my newsletter last Monday if you’re interested. (Link in bio)

This one is 16x20 and because I wrote my own rules and count a day… not by a painting finished… but by days spent in the studio…it represents days 11, 12, and 13. I must admit… I’m enjoying this challenge more than I expected. Yay and thank You Lord.

I want to play and maybe find my new style that fits with this new season of my life. Even at 74 yo, it’s never too late to learn something new and it’s okay to just play. True?

Curious… are you learning something new today?
