It’s almost Easter… and I’m so thankful to have finally finished this painting!
Yes… it’s the time of year when, not only are the birds singing and the flowers starting to bloom, but our faith is renewed, our spirits soar, and our hearts are filled with overwhelming joy as we celebrate our risen Lord! The tomb is empty and He is Alive! Hallelujah!
And this verse… “the season of singing has come” makes me think of Easter! Especially for me, because this painting was such a struggle. I kept painting, and repainting… and finally hung it on the wall in my studio unfinished and without a verse. In a sense, it was in its own barren winter season waiting for the day when it would it would be given new life. I was so happy when that day finally came! And now… it’s so full of hope and promise… a reminder that winter is temporary… and a new day is just around the corner! You can find a print of this painting here.
