If only you knew how much I long to write back to everyone who writes to me!!! The reality is though, that just like you, I have only so many hours in a day and there just don't seem to be enough of them for me to answer all the letters, cards and emails that I receive. But I do read everyone of them... some with a smile, some with tears and always with a prayer or praise. God does nudge me once in a while to write back and I try to be obedient, so you never know. God also knows how much I love and need to hear from you. So if you feel Him nudging you, please take a moment and send me note. Otherwise, I tried to save a moment of your precious time by answering some of the questions I'm asked most often. Help! Where can I find your books and products? My books and products are sold worldwide but I have no way to keep track of who has what or when. Your local Christian bookstore is the first place to check for my books and most products. I am also excited to be able to offer all of my books and many of my products in my online store now with more to be added in the days ahead! I bought some of your "Apple of His Eye" ceramics and want more, but can't I find them anywhere? I'm so sorry to say that the Dicksons Apple Collection has been discontinued. However, there is a new Apple collection made by a different company that you might like. The green is close to the same but the yellow is more of a butter color. This collection is available at the Karla Dornacher Online Store. Do you have a mail order catalog? Sorry, not at this time. Can I download art from your website for personal or business use? Unfortunately, no. All of my artwork is owned and copyrighted by Karla Dornacher and licensed by J.Countryman Publishing and legally can be used only by those companies that are licensed to manufacture my products. Using any of the art from my website is considered a violation of United States Copyright Law. Can my church use the art from your website for ministry purposes? Special permissions are granted to ministries on a per event basis. To request permission for your event, please email Michelle Orr at morr@jcountryman.com. If you are going to be the speaker at our event, can we use the art off your webiste or do we still need to go through J.Countryman to get permission? No to both. Where can I find your scrapbook materials? This is one of the most frequently asked questions and I'm always sorry to have to say I don't have any scrapbook materials to offer you at this time. I do have a "Make Your Own Card Kit" and soon will have a leaflet with stickers and a few papers that have some great elements to add to your scrapbook pages but as for everyday and special ocassion scrapbooking supplies... all in God's time. I believe God is calling me to write a book but I don't know how to get it published. Can you help? For right now, the best advice I have to offer is to buy yourself a copy of Sally Stuart's The Christian Writers' Market Guide or see if you can find it at your local library. Sally has invested herself into providing you with the most current information about Christian publishers of every variety, the proper contact people, and the particulars of how they want you to submit your manuscript along with lots of other valuable advice about how to enter the Christian publishing world. The other suggestion I have is to attend a Christian Writer's Conference. I have been to and highly recommend the Mt. Hermon Writers Conference in CA. Search the internet for other great Christian Writers' Conferences in your area. The great thing about these conferences is that you will have the opportunity to meet with editors from book and magazine publishers, as well as mingle with other writiers and take some great workshops! Lots of books have found their way to someone's bookshelf via a God meeting at a Christian conference. I don't have a book yet, but I do believe God has given me a message to share with other women. How do I get started as a speaker? The best answer to that one is to let the Lord lead you every step of the way and do not despise small beginnings. Ask God to show you opportunities in your own church to teach a Bible study or share with a Mom's Group or other small group. I have always depended on God and word of mouth so I can't suggest any promotional ideas at this time. However, I would highly suggest attending a speakers conference or workshop. I have been to Carol Kent's Speak Up with Confidence Conference as well as to a CLASS Conference and gleaned some wonderful insight and direction from both of them! I'm sure there are others to be found by doing a search on the internet or asking around. I am a retailer, how can I find out about buying Karla's books and products for my store? I work with several manufacturers who are licensed to make and distribute my products. If you call them, they will be glad to send you a current catalog. Since some companies put out several catalogs for different seasons or product categories, tell them you are looking for my products to make sure you'll get the right catalog. Also, since products change so quickly in this business, I may or may not have current product with a particular company today but may have tomorrow!
